I am currently a student at IBA Karachi, hoping to major in history. Apart from that I have always been a huge fan of Kathak and deeply interested in understanding Pakistan’s aversion to it. In this interrogation, the question that often comes up is whether the nation is repulsed by the idea of women using dance to express themselves, or dance itself. And this piece is a surface-level exploration of this.
